Automated Bug Fixing with Generative AI: Addressing Software Vulnerabilities in Secure Coding

Generative AI has changed software development and other industries. One of its most potential applications is automatic bug rectification, particularly for secure code problems. Traditional bug remediation may lead to human errors and overlooked vulnerabilities due to manual code reviews, slow debugging, and repetitive activities. Generative AI models, particularly deep learning ones, may automate and optimize these activities by finding and fixing security problems. This paper suggests that generative AI in automated bug remediation may enhance code security, secure coding, and the software development lifecycle. The pros, cons, and ethics of AI are also examined.
